Evening Work: Backlash (7.8M mp3).
back·lash (noun)

2. an antagonistic reaction to an earlier action
3. a snarl formed in the part of a fishing line that is wound around the reel
4. the play resulting from loose connections between gears or other mechanical elements
Again, this sketch begins slowly with an energized harmonic ambiguity, melting the brick walls that separate our assumptions and habits of consonance and dissonance. The middle contains a bit of a major/minor fugue that eventually evolves into a sort of acoustic Shepard's tone (an endlessly falling glissando illusion.)
